UK theme park forced into administration last year reveals plans for brand new holiday resort
A MUCH-LOVED UK theme park that went into administration last year has revealed plans for a new holiday resort on the same site.
Camel Creek Adventure Park in Cornwall called in the administrators in July 2023.
But new plans that have been submitted to the local council reveal a new holiday resort to open on the theme park land.
This includes caravans, safari tents and glamping pods, as well as amenity blocks with showers and toilets.
If given the go-ahead, more than 60 units would be built in time for the summer 2024 season - with 43 touring pitches, 14 glamping pods, five safari tents and four double en-suite units.
The revenue from the holiday park can then go towards creating a larger holiday park which has been given planning permission.

The larger park will have 434 units, as well as leisure facilities.
However, the larger area has been put on pause, according to , due to financial pressures.
A planning statement says: “This proposal is a significant part of the business and development plan for the park and seeks to support the long term operation of Camel Creek.
"The development will help meet the increased demand for self-catering accommodation and camping, and importantly can be completed and in operation quickly.

"Camel Creek Family Amusement Park intend to use the success of the proposed campsite to enable the larger consented holiday park to be built."
Camel Creek first opened in the UK in 1989, with 40 rides at the park.
It also revealed a huge £3million renovation back in 2019, which includes two new rollercoasters and a log flume.
Despite plans to turn it into a ";six star resort" back in 2016, with treehouses and villas, this failed to open.
The theme park then confirmed it went into administration in July 2023, although continued to operate throughout the summer.
However, by October 2023 the park confirmed that it would be a temporary winter closure and they were planning to "upgrade the park for 2024".
It plans to reopen in March 16, 2024.
