A HAVEN resort is set to open the first ever Wetherspoons at a holiday park this Friday.
Earlier this year, the much-loved UK pub chain confirmed that it would be opening a new venue at the Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in Filey.
While the holiday park's pre-existing pub was called the Mash and Barrel, the new boozer has been renamed Five Stones in a nod to the area's Roman history.
In the 19th century, five large stone blocks were uncovered on Filey Seafront.
It is thought that the five stones supported a 4th-century Roman signal station (a rectangular stone tower).
The stones, which stood at 30 metres high and 14 metres square, had a beacon on top that was lit when invading ships were spotted.

But Five Stones will be a far cry from Roman Britain.
Instead, it will have "all the hallmarks of a beloved Wetherspoons" with 250 seats and menu options including salads and pub classics.
During the summer, the Spoons boozer will be open from 8am until 12am from Sunday to Thursday.
The pub will be open for an additional hour, until 1am, every Friday and Saturday.

Outside of the summer season, Five Stones will close one hour earlier.
Despite being open from 8am, punters will have to wait until 10am to order an alcoholic drink at the on-site Wetherspoons.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the Haven Holiday Park had applied to North Yorkshire Council to extend its licensing hours.
Andy Milner, The Five Stones’ pub manager, said: "We’re excited to start the season by opening the doors of our brand-new pub to our owners and holidaymakers.
"We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at our park enjoy the new facilities throughout the year."
Wetherspoon Commercial Director, Michael Barron added: "We are delighted to be opening at Primrose Valley Holiday Park. We are confident that owners and holidaymakers will welcome the pub and that it will be a great addition to the park."
The £1.1million site is part of Haven's huge £4million investment into its food and drink at the parks.
Wetherspoons is the 7th food and drink brand to partner with Haven, which also includes Burger King and Papa Johns.
Beautiful boozers to visit
Spoons pubs have become something of a landmark for UK towns, with many breathing new life into historic buildings.
One of those is the Picture House in Colwyn Bay, Wales, which has been described as the most beautiful Wetherspoons in the country by its visitors.
Located inside the former Princess Cinema, the pub was originally called the Princess Picture House.
The pub has a lot of the original Art Deco design features, including stained glass windows, lighting fixtures and artwork on the walls.
North Wales is home to another beautiful Wetherspoons, which is also set inside an old cinema.
The Palladium in Llandudno first opened to the public back in the 1920s, and it has since been used as a bingo hall and a music venue.
Now a Grade II listed building, Wetherspoons opened the pub in 2001.
The pub has recently undergone a huge £1million restoration project, and it has been hailed as a "work of art" by locals.
Last year, Sun Online Travel visited the biggest Wetherspoons in the world - and it's right on the beach.
The Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate, Kent, was opened by HRH Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll in 2017.
It was originally built as a concert hall and assembly rooms, and was designed by architect Stanley Davenport Adshead.
The interior is believed to have been inspired by the Little Theatre at Versailles before it was simplified in the 1930s.
