The Ruby Zoe hotel is in London, a short walk from Notting Hill Gate which has fast routes to both Heathrow and Gatwick Airport.

The 173-room hotel has a brightly coloured lobby to resemble the colours of London Carnival, as well as 24-hour bar and rentable guitars.

Check in time is 3pm and check out is 11am, although you can ask for earlier and later options.

There is a public car park a nine-minute walk away at 150 Bayswater Road.

The rooms are dubbed “lean luxury“, meaning modern features without the frills.

Ranging from the smallest, “Nest”, to the largest, “Wow”, each room has crisp white interiors with dark wood accents, along with a king-size bed and Marshall speakers.

You won’t find a dressing gown, slippers or minibar, but there is free chocolate and own-brand toiletries.

You’ll be hard pressed to find much food at the hotel as there’s no restaurant and the breakfast is limited to pastries, cereals and a few hot options.

This is served from 6:30am to 10:30am during the week, or 7am to 11am on weekends, and costs £18 if booked before your stay.

But in this location, you are spoilt for restaurants, including Bulgogi (Korean), Cottons (Caribbean) or Los Mochis (Mexican).

But be sure to return to the hotel for a drink – they have great cocktails, with the signature Negroni recommended, served by fun bartenders.

Along with drinks, they also have smaller Italian nibbles such as pizzas piatti and piadine for the side.

There is even live music and gigs in the evenings, as well as game nights on Monday.
