The remote Caribbean-like beach that’s the cleanest in Britain – but with no ice cream vans or shops
THE cleanest beach in the UK has been revealed and it's one that's been compared to stretches of shoreline in much more tropical locations.
Plenty of beaches around the country are frequently compared to others elsewhere in the world.
Included in that is Barafundle Bay in Pembrokeshire, Wales, which has now been labelled the cleanest in the whole of the United Kingdom.
That's according to a study that was carried out by cleaning experts .
They looked at the percentage of excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and Google ratings, as well as cleanliness scores and average bacteria levels.
From their research, they concluded that Barafundle had the cleanest shoreline in the country, suggesting Brits head there for a day out at the beach.

They said: "The 'Caribbean-like' Barafundle Bay in Wales has seen visitors soar over the years since it was listed as one of the best in the world.
"Now, with the summer season near, the picturesque coastline has been revealed as one of the cleanest beaches for visitors this year."
They weren't the only people to draw the comparison between Barafundle and the Caribbean either.
wrote: "Nestled on the south coast of Pembrokeshire between Broad Haven and Freshwater East, Barafundle is regularly listed as one of the top beaches in the world and could easily be mistaken for somewhere in the Caribbean.
"Lucky for us, this gem is just a short drive and an ideal place for a day out."
The bay hasn't only been compared to beaches in exotic, but it has also been ranked above them in worldwide beach ratings before too.
It was once listed 17th in the best 25 beaches in the world, finishing above the likes of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
However, getting to Barafundle might not be as easy as you'd hope, with facilities on the beach few and far between, with no ice creams or drinks to be found unless they're brought from home.
They also urged visitors not to leave anything behind, as they hope to maintain its status as the cleanest beach in the country.
