Here's where you should leave electronics instead of in your checked-in luggage

, who boasts a staggering 730,000 followers, explained you should keep some things on your person in case of theft or lost luggage.

He cautioned against taking common holiday essentials like adaptors, sun cream, contact lenses and medicine in your checked baggage.

The TikTok user said: "You may be able to get a doctor to call in your prescription, but that becomes trickier if it's a weekend or a holiday or if your medication doesn't allow for refills before the previous prescription runs out."

Few of us think twice before packing our electronics into our suitcases, thinking it'll be safe - but the TikToker warned against this.

"While most are trustworthy, not everyone is," speaking of the small but very real risk that airline staff including baggage handlers may pose.

The TikToker stressed that the same applies to "items with significant personal value," including "jewellery and cash."

The rule of thumb he used was that you should be wary of stowing things in your checked baggage if it'd cause you "financial or emotional loss".

Instead of taking these risks, keep them on yourself at all times - that way you're in control of its fate.

Something you may not think to keep in your carry-on is pricey sun cream and adaptors.

In other words, anything you deem a necessity should stay on your person - you never know what will happen to it.

How to avoid overpacking your suitcase

This comes after a passenger revealed the "weird plane seat" that lets you sit right by the flight crew.

The bizarre set-up is actually perfect for couples, with the row only having two seats for passengers while the rest of the plane has three.

Flyer Chris Olsen revealed the seats in a TikTok clip - which were found in row 10 of an American Airlines Airbus A321.

The 43-year-old was flying from Phoenix to San Diego last month when he came across the strange sight.

He captioned the clip: "Weird airplane seats you have to see to believe Airbus edition."

Despite only having two seats for passengers, there are three seats in the row.

The third is a 'jump seat' and is reserved for flight attendants who need the seat for take-off and landing.

Strangely, the seat faces backwards towards passengers sitting in row 11.

That's because the jump seat sits next to the plane's emergency exit, with the crew member needed in the spot in case of emergency.
