The video sees period actors being interrupted by modern day British Airways crew to show the safety briefing.

For example, a 19th century socialite is left baffled by a laptop, featured when the safety instructions tells passengers to store it before take off.

The video was filmed at both Hatfield House, used to film Tarzan, Batman and Tomb Raider, as well as Englefield House Estate which features in X-Men, Black Mirror and The King’s Speech.

The video was created by Sharon McGuire, known for her work on Bridge Jones’s Diary.

And costumes were created by three-time Oscar winning costume designer Jenny Beavan, known for Mad Max: Fury Road, The King’s Speech and Cruella.

Calum Laming, British Airways‘ Chief Customer Officer, said: “We know that these videos deliver vital safety information, and it is so important that we do everything we can to keep our customers engaged throughout.

“When it came to selecting a genre, we wanted something that would enable us to do this, while resonating with global audiences, so a period drama with a little bit of humour seemed like the perfect fit.

“We have created something truly original and entertaining that celebrates what makes Britain – and British Airways – unique while communicating the importance of safety on board.” I am also incredibly proud that more than 40 colleagues star in the film as we have always said it is our people who make us who we are.” “

People on YouTube loved it too.

One said: “This is your best safety video yet.”

The video will feature on long-haul British Airways flights from August 1.

Sadly, short-haul flights without inflight entertainment screens won’t be able to catch it, with BA crew performing a cabin safety demonstration instead.

The previous British Airways safety video featured some very famous faces.

Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwi, along with entrepreneur Steven Bartlett and tennis ace Emma Raducanu all featured, along with Robert Peston, Kaya Scodelario, rapper Little Simz and chef Tom Kerridge.

Here’s another flight safety video that went viral.
