Jet2 launches flights to three new islands – and one you won’t have heard of
THREE Greek islands are now part of Jet2's summer holiday routes - and one is much lesser known to Brits.
The tour operator already flies to a number of well known islands across Greece such as Santorini and Mykonos.
However, there are a number of others that are less crowded that tourists can visit, especially with the new Jet2 flights.
Poros, Aegina and Leros will all welcome Jet2 flights next summer.
Passengers will be able to travel from Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted airports.
The new flights will change at Athens if travelling to Poros.

All passengers will get free transfers and ferry services when booking a package holiday.
Also being launched is Palermo and Tallinn in 2026.
National sales manager Simon Marshall said, according to: “The launch of five brand-new destinations is fantastic news for independent travel agents and comes on the back of demand for our award-winning holidays no matter what time of the year it is.
“Greece and Italy continue to be summer favourites so we are adding even more choice thanks to the introduction of Poros, Aegina, Leros and Palermo."
Here's what you need to know about the three new Greek islands.
Poros
An hour from Athens by hyrdofoil, the Old Town is where most tourists will flock to.
It also has the Temple of Poseidon with a five metre stature of the god, as well as the Archaeological Museum of Poros.
It also has a very unique lemon forest - Meonodasos - which is one of the only ones in Greece.
The largest beach is Askeli - which is also a sandy beach too.
Aegina
The closest island to Athens is Aegina, named after the island's nymph who Zeus fell in love with.
It is said the island was the first place to have coins in Europe, with a turtle on one side.
There is the popular Aphea Temple to visit. as well as the old town.
There are 20 beaches to choose from around the island, with both pebble and sand depending on what you fancy.
Leros
Leros has more Italian influences that other Greek islands, being taken by the country in 1912.
The fertile land makes it popular with hikers thanks to its green landscape.
But it also has one of the deepest natural harbours in the Med so is great for diving and swimming too.
