Head to the 4* Norton Park, Winchester, for an indulgent spa weekend
Take the time to enjoy the sumptuous fare and explore the 56 acres of picturesque parkland around the property
WHAT'S IT LIKE? Just a stone's throw from Winchester, the 4* Norton Park is part modern spa hotel and part historic 17th century country house, with 56 acres of picturesque parkland to explore. I took my twin sister for a weekend pamper (and a gossip) free from the kids - and we loved it. The staff are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. On your marks, get set ... chill.
ROOMS ANY GOOD? There are 166 rooms, many of which have been recently refurbished to a high standard.
Silk cushions, cosy quilts and pristine white linens made our twin room so comfortable we almost preferred it to the spa. For an even more special stay, check in to one of the rooms in the original manor house, complete with unique features and olde-worlde charm.
EAT THERE OR GRAB A PIZZA? Eat in for sure. The Scene restaurant was warm and welcoming, the menu featuring some excellent grill dishes including a decent rib-eye steak and six-hourcooked shoulder of spring lamb. The meal ended with indulgent creme brulee and cheesecake.
WHAT ELSE? Try the woodland walk if you fancy some fresh air - and bagsy your spa loungers early, as it is popular and beds go sharpish. Fancy a spa treatment? The aromatherapy massage was so relaxing that I nearly slept through dinner.
SO YOU'D GO BACK? Yep. For a bargain weekend break, it is hard to beat.
WHAT'S THE DAMAGE? The Spring Spa Break offer is an absolute belter. Get lunch, dinner, B&B plus a 60-minute spa treatment and a bottle of fizz for £105 per person. Book online at or call 0845 074 0064 and quote SPRINGSPA17 to get the deal.
