First tourist attraction in the world to get 100,000 reviews on TripAdvisor is revealed
The venue beat the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum and Central Park to become the most reviewed attraction on the website
THE Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is the first place in the world to get more than 100,000 traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.
The travel planning and booking site has revealed today that the cathedral in Barcelona has cracked the number, ahead of the likes of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Colosseum in Rome.
The church, which was designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, today records a total of 106,508 reviews from users who have visited it and shared their experience on TripAdvisor.
The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, the city’s most famous site, was started in 1882 and still isn’t quite finished.
It’s like no other church you’ll see, a festival of light, colour and soaring stonework, with fantastic views from the roof and twisting spires.
It is rated as the number one attraction in Barcelona and 38,428 of the reviews are 'Excellent', with 7,418 describing it as 'Very Good.'
The Eiffel Tower in Paris and New York’s Central Park follow closely behind the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, with 98,909 and 94,437 reviews on the site respectively.
