£45 ‘flight hammock’ takes the stress out of long-haul trips with kids by turning a seat into a BED

The Fly LegsUp for Kids helps children sleep and play on flights by turning the footwell into a comfortable sleeping area

A HI-TECH hammock takes the pain out of flying with kids by transforming a seat's footwell into a comfortable bed area.

The Fly LegsUp for Kids was designed to help children up to the age of nine sleep and play on long haul economy flights, allowing them to make the most of the area around their feet.

The works by making a flat platform for them to sleep and play on, just like their bed at home, so their minimal space is maximised.

The contraption has the added benefit of stopping any toys from dropping under the seat and getting lost too.

While the hammock is primarily for infants and young children, older children can continue to use it to provide leg suport.

The $90 (£45) package from the Australian comes with one hammock, one large pillow and two small pillows, and it costs $5 (£2.80) for postage and package in the UK from their British warehouse.

One parent called Kezza Balenco, who bought the product for her child, said: "Quite possibly the best $90 (£45) I've ever spent.

"My daughter Ivy loved the bed and slept all the way home. First class for the kids I reckon.

"We flew Perth Australia to Manchester with Qatar, she turns four in July and she had loads of space."
