A budget airline is selling transatlantic flights from just £121… but you’ll have to put up with the same legroom as RYANAIR
The Primera Air planes will fly to Newark and Boston from London Stansted and Birmingham airport in the UK
THESE days it's often cheaper to fly to the States than many parts of Europe.
Now another low-cost airline has now launched budget flights to the US, allowing passengers to travel from as little as £121 per journey... although they might be a little uncomfortable.
Primera Air is an Icelandic airline that mainly operates in Scandinavia, but it is now branching out into the UK market.
The planes will fly to Newark and Boston from London Stansted and Birmingham airport in the UK.
Newark Liberty International Airport serves the state of New Jersey and the greater New York metropolitan area.
A round trip can be snapped up for as little as £271, as UK to US flights cost from £149 and the return leg is on offer from £121.
The airline will start operating the flights from April next year.
The bargain prices are the ultimate no-frills fares though, as any added extras will add significantly to the ticket cost.
For example, a 23kg bag in the hold costs £25, and seat reservations cost from £22 to £55.
Travellers will probably want to reserve the £55 extra legroom seats too, as according to The Independent, the standard seats have the same space as on a Ryanair flight.

In-flight food is also particular pricey, costing £30 for a meal per passenger.
Primera’s flights will start from April 18, 2018, and they are also expected to add more routes on their transatlantic offering.
The airline is following in the footsteps of Norwegian and WOW Air, who have both started to offer super-cheap transatlantic flights in recent years.
