Cartoon Network reveals new cruise ship to embark from Singapore this year – disguised as a giant dog
Emblazoned with images of popular character Jake the Dog - who stars in Adventure Time - brand new ship Cartoon Network Wave is a far cry from your average liner
IS IT a bird, is it a plane… no, it’s a giant cruise ship disguised as a dog.
The world of cruising has something for everyone – and now that includes cartoon-loving families with young children.
Emblazoned with images of popular character Jake the Dog – who stars in Adventure Time – Cartoon network’s brand new ship is a far cry from your average liner.
The ship has capacity for 2,000 guests and is totally kitted out for families with young kids.
It has 800 cabins, 11 entertainment decks, themed nights, circus shows and kids’ parties.
Dotted throughout the 50,000 tonne vessel, characters from popular shows such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears inspire the onboard experience.
For those wanting to burn off extra steam, there is also a colourful outdoor play area and a rope adventure park.
There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars for the adults when they need some down time.
The new ship will sail to 13 destinations across Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and China.
The cruise is the brain child of Oceanic Group and Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of Cartoon Network and CNN.
Ricky Ow, president of Turner Asia Pacific, said: “Turner is always looking at new ways to bring our characters to life — and Cartoon Network Wave will be their home on the high seas.”
The Cartoon Network Wave will embark on its maiden voyage from Singapore later his year.
Prices start at £107 ($150) per night.
This is not the only cruise aimed entirely at families and cartoon lovers.
Disney has just announced the return of Star Wars and Marvel sea adventures, which will be offer on select Disney cruises this year and next.
