Each 10 cash points equals £1 and then can be used towards the cost of booking a flight, including all flight extras and taxes.

From April 16, they will be able to earn extra points by completing online surveys using the Norwegian rewards opinions website.

Members will receive a 50 points, worth £5, for signing up to the free website and then can earn points for filling in surveys.

The amount of points customers can earn varies depending on the length of the survey.

How to make the most out of Norwegian’s loyalty scheme

NORWEGIAN’S loyalty scheme now has one million members in the UK. Here’s how it works:

How to earn points

You can earn points by booking a flight, hotel, car rental or shopping online.

You can earn 2 per cent cash points on low fare and premium tickets and 20 per cent cash points on flex tickets.

You’ll get 5 per cent points when you book accommodation through Hotels.com and the Norwegian website.

You can also earn points by booking activities through the Norwegian website, for example you’ll get 10 per cent on booking with Groupon or 5 per cent if booking through GetYourGuide.

The more you fly the more you get. For every sixth flight you book - or three return flights - you can choose a reward for the next 12 months.

These include 2 per cent extra points boost, free seat reservations, free fast track tickets or free checked baggage.

How many points can you earn?

  • Return flight to New York JFK from London Gatwick in Economy = 28 points (£2.80)
  • Return flight to New York JFK from London Gatwick on Economy flex = 177 points (£17.70)
  • Transfer from JFK to hotel with CarTrawler = 12 points (£1.20)
  • Four night stay at YOTEL New York through Hotels.com = 304 points (£30.04)
  • Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe through GetYourGuide = 16 points per person (£1.60)
  • Harbour lights cruise through GetYourGuide = 17 points per person (£1.70)
  • 9/11 tour, memorial, museum and observatory through GetYourGuide = 46 points per person (46 points = £4.60)

How to spend points
For every 10 points you get £1. You can use points to book flights, extra baggage or reserve a seat.

You can use points towards the cost of booking these options.

Eg, 238 points would pay for 80 per cent of a one way fare to most European destinations from London, including Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga.

For a 5 minute survey member will earn 5 cash points, worth 50p, while a 60 minute survey equals 40 points, worth £4.

Members will be limited on the number of surveys they can fill out and will only be sent ones which are relevant to them.

There’s also the chance to enter into a quarterly competition to win 3,000 points (£300) - enough points to pay for a return economy flight to most US destinations on Norwegian.

The membership scheme now has over one million members in the UK.

Last year, the airline launched a new cashback website where shoppers who make purchases through Norwgian’s online shop can earn points to turn into free flights, baggage or seat reservations.

The amount of points customers earn for spending the online shop varies depending on the brand and the amount being spent.

The quickest way to benefit from the reward scheme is by booking flights with the low-cost airline.

In fact, for every six flights (or three return flights) you’ll get a free “reward”.
This could be a free seat reservation or baggage-fee waiver and this is valid for 12 months.
