Disneyland Paris to get new Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars-themed areas in £1.8billion theme park makeover
DISNEYLAND Paris is getting a huge £1.8billion makeover.
The transformation of the Walt Disney Studios Park will include three new areas based on Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars.

There will also be several other new attractions and live entertainment experiences.
The expansion plan is one of the biggest developments at Disneyland Paris since it opened in 1992.
Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, said: “The expansion will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment.”
The new areas will be rolled out over several years – with the first opening in 2021 in Walt Disney Studios Park.

In addition to the three new areas, there will also be a new lake built in the park that connects each of the new park areas.
Earlier this month, Disneyland Paris also announced plans for a new Marvel-themed attraction that will be coming to the Walt Disney Studios.
Marvel’s superheroes will be brought to life at the Paris park in a ride called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
Riders will get the chance to team up with the Avengers, including Iron Man on what’s being dubbed a “high-speed, hyper-kinetic adventure”.

The ride, featuring Aerosmith, already exists at Disneyland Paris - and it's currently the fastest roller coaster in France - but it's getting Marvel makeover for 2018.
The resort is also giving Disney’s Hotel New York a Marvel makeover in 2020, featuring the characters from Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider-Man in the rooms.
There will also be a Marvel Summer of Super Heroes event at the park this summer too - where guests can meet their favourite heroes.

Those who can't wait for the new changes should make their way to the American theme parks
Toy Story Land is opening on June 30 at Disney World's Hollywood Studios.
Guests visiting the land will feel they have shrunk to the size of a toy in Andy's back garden.

Two of the rides already plotted for Toy Story Land include the Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.
Then in 2019, Disney’s new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge theme parks are due to open in California and Florida.
The mini theme parks, which are currently under construction, will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet somewhere on the Outer Rim.
Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions, one of which lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customised secret mission.

The second focuses on an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open in 2019, with the first land debuting at Disneyland Park in California, then at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando later in the year.

The first ever fully immersive Star Wars-themed hotel will serve as a multi-day adventure for guests, where they feel like they are living inside the story.
The hotel will be built as a spaceship and all of the windows look out on outer space, while the guests are all given costumes from the moment they check in.
