Primera Air sale starts TODAY and you could get cheap £99 flights from the UK to New York and Boston

A sale starts today with 99 flights on sale for each new route - but you'll have to be quick as they'll sell out quickly

TRANSATLANTIC flights have never been so affordable - and today sees a huge sale launch on Primera Air.

The no-frills Nordic airline is launching in the UK and to celebrate they are offering £99 fares one way to the US and Canada, including flights to New York, Washington DC, Boston and Toronto.

You'll have to be quick and head over to today as there are 99 tickets available for each of the £99 routes – so 396 in total – and they are on a first come, first served basis.

These flights are on cheapest end of the airline's seats and include just 10kg of hand luggage - so things are going to get more expensive if you want to put a bag in the hold.

But if you're able to pack light, these seats are a real bargain.

All routes depart from London Stansted.

The fares are expected to sell out in minutes.

These will be the first scheduled transatlantic flights from Stansted in ten years.

The airline has operated in Europe for the last 14 years but these are the first Primera Air flights to take off from the UK.

A statement from the airline reads: "Taking the strain of searching tirelessly for affordable international travel options, Primera Air’s mission is to make expensive long-haul travel history."

The airline launched cheap flights from Essex to Washington DC in February, which will take off from August.

Primera Air CEO Hrafn Thorgeirsson told the : “At Heathrow there are no slots available and Gatwick is really saturated and very difficult to get any proper slots.

"Nobody is serving Stansted right now for our market.”

The inexpensive Icelandic airline has just nine aircraft in its fleet, in comparison, Ryanair has 413 planes.

But they are already making waves in the aviation industry thanks to their super-cheap transatlantic flights north of London.
