Magaluf crackdown on happy hours at pubs and clubs is enforced by police patrols

Police in Magaluf are warning pub and club owners that the days of promoting or advertising happy hours, two for one offers, open or free bars are now over.
Anyone flouting the ban will face a fine of between €600 and €1,500.
Officers and tourism chiefs have been going door to door over the last few days in the run-up to the new summer season to alert nightspots to the new raft of rules.
The rules are aimed at "abolishing once and for all the negative headlines about anti-social behaviour."
More than 3,000 warning leaflets have been circulated in Spanish and English to detail the new list of offences and the fines that can be imposed.
These include between €200 and €600 if any customer is allowed to leave the premises with a glass or bottle in their hand and up to €3,000 for selling alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
It will also be an offence to "spread advertising messages by any means in the establishments or activities which facilitate or promote the consumption of alcoholic beverages."
These include signs like "open bar", "free bar", "happy hour", "2x1 " and " 3x1."
If the rules are flouted, the fine will be between €600 and €1,500.
The penalty for selling more alcohol to someone who is already drunk will be between €200 and €600.
Calvia council, which covers Magaluf, says it doesn't want to see the words "scandal" or "excesses" again this summer.
Special attention is being given to Magaluf, Ramon de Montcada in Santa Ponça,and Palmanova.
Deputy mayor of security, Andreu Serra said the campaign centred around the slogan "It's also your responsibility" and is stressing the need for "everyone to work together" .
He added: "We must reduce the tourism of excesses and drunkenness."
The new rules also ask all-inclusive hotels not to allow guests to go out with food or drink from the establishments unless it is for an excursion, and they have to make this very clear to them on their arrival.
The banned advertising of happy hours or offers extends to all formats, including the social network and aerial messages.
There is also a new list of 16 sanctions which have doubled, trebled or multiplied four-fold in terms of fines, again to cut out "uncivic behaviour".
This includes nudism or semi-nudism in unauthorised places.
