Emirates launch service where they’ll come and take your bags and check you in at home
Staff will collect, weigh and tag baggage and and then send it off to the plane, as well as checking passengers in on all classes, including economy
EMIRATES is famed for its customer service – and have just taken it to the next level.
Customers in Dubai can now check in at home from anywhere in the city – and have their luggage transported from their home or hotel to airport.
And it’s open to all classes – including economy.
The service will see a check-in agent arrive at an agreed location and weigh and tag the bags as well as handing out boarding passes.
Customers are then able to head to the airport and go straight to security, making the whole travel process much quicker.
The service costs 350 AED (£68) for up to seven items of baggage and 35 AED (£6) for any additional bags.
It can be booked up to 12 hours before departure.
The airline isn't the first to try such a scheme - British Airways has also teamed up with travel tech start-up AirPortr to offer a similar service to flyers living inside the M25 and flying from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City from October 26.
They claim to seal, secure and deliver your bags in hours with live tracking straight from your door.
There's also a luggage "teleporting" app which will send your bags straight to your hotel from the airport.

When you arrive at your holiday destination, staff from Luggage Teleport will meet you at the airport and take your bags to your hotel.
Then on your last day of holiday, they'll sort it out so that you can enjoy your last day properly by whisking away your luggage from the hotel after you’ve checked out.
So instead of carting luggage around the beach or the city, the company will instead meet you at the airport with the bags - so you can head straight to check in.
