The best holidays make the whole family happy, and Malta caters for people of all ages.

The friendly Maltese make communication easy for parents as English is the second national language. There’s accommodation to suit every budget, from hotels to self-catering apartments, and restaurants offer menus suitable for teen tastebuds.

The warm, glistening waters are a playground for active families. Watersports available to all include kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, jet skiing and paragliding so there's something for everyone, from the first timer and the experienced adrenaline junkie.

There are sailing courses or, if you don’t fancy being skipper, take a boat trip around the island or to the neighbouring isles of Gozo and Comino, the latter is home to the famous Blue Lagoon.

The glorious Mediterranean sea around the Maltese islands is a paradise for snorkelers and divers as it is teeming with fish and WW2 wrecks which have become artificial reefs and great dive sites – some of the best in the world. In fact, the Archipelago has repeatedly been voted the second best dive destination in the world.

The calm, crystal-clear sea means it is ideal for children to learn to dive and they can take a PADI qualification from the age of 10.

The kids may be out of school but give them a history lesson by taking a harbour boat trip around Malta’s capital Valletta to see forts, battlements and creeks and to learn about the two Great Sieges of 1565 and 1942.

Valletta is the European Capital of Culture 2018, so there's never been a better time to appreciate 7,000 years of history showcased in festivals, traditional celebrations, music and theatre. There are over 400 events going on over the course of the year and you can find more info .

The medieval castles and roman ruins are often backdrops for exciting and colourful re-enactments and pageants with soldiers and knights putting on displays with their swords, lances and cannons.  Cover your ears for the live firing of an original Victorian Martini-Henry rifle at Fort Rinella.

The thrills and spills of modern Malta range from mountain biking, go-karting, jeep safaris and rock climbing and you can explore the 7,000 years of history of Malta whilst doing so.

Taking a Quad Biking tour of Gozo, a Segway tour of Valletta or a Jeep Safari around the Dingli Cliffs are just a few of the fun ways to sight-see.

Every holidaymaker, whatever their age, is happy in the Maltese Archipelago – that’s the magic of Malta.
