Stunning new pictures of Yorkshire reveal why it earned the nickname ‘God’s own country’
Local photographer Dave Zdanowicz has captured the beauty of his home county in a book called More Yorkshire in Photographs
YORKSHIRE is the most Instagrammed county in the UK, so it;s hardly surprising that the area's natural beauty has inspired scores of coffee table photography books.
One of the most recent is More Yorkshire in Photographs by Dave Zdanowicz - featuring both seasonal landscapes and famous buildings.
Dave was born and raised in Bradford, West Yorkshire, and is a proud landscape photographer of his hometown.
He said: “The images in this book have been selected from my collection over the last years.
“In the course of taking these photographs I have explored moors and hills, reservoirs and lakes, beaches and cliffs, towns, villages and cities and each picture represents a unique moment in time, captured at a particular time of the year.
“It has been a pleasure revisiting some of my favourite destinations around Yorkshire as well as discovering new places for the first time.
“Whatever the weather, whatever the time of year, Yorkshire is truly beautiful. I was overwhelmed with the response to the first book, which received glowing features and reviews from the national press.
“I am very passionate about photography and even more so about capturing the magic of Yorkshire’s landscapes.
"Every spare moment I have is dedicated to visiting various locations around the county with my dad, Paul, who is a fantastic photographer.”
More Yorkshire in Photographs was published by Amberley Publishing and is available .
While there is beautiful countryside on your doorstep, Yorkshire also has plenty of character properties that featured in popular films and TV shows. These include Carlton Towers, a stately home in Yorkshire used in the ITV drama Victoria, and Goathland Station, which was featured in the Harry Potter films as Hogsmeade Station.

Yorkshire isn't just known for its rugged beauty - the area has had 607 ghosts reported throughout history, more than any other region.
They range from floating heads seen in Bradford to a spectre that stalks a golf course in the form of a robin.
Perhaps its most chilling case is the Black Monk of Pontefract, who terrorised the inhabitants of an unassuming Fifties terrace in the East Yorkshire town.
