Star Wars fans could wait SIX HOURS for Millennium Falcon ride at Disneyland – but there are ways to skip the queue
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be available for FastPass according to Touring Plan, as well as Early Entry for resort guests
DISNEY'S new Star Wars ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run isn't due to open until 2019 but anticipation has already been building.
The new attraction will allow guests to play the role of a crew member on the ship and even engage in battle with Imperial tie fighters.
Smugglers Run will debut at Disneyland in California in summer 2019 before opening in Florida's Walt Disney World in autumn of the same year.
But fans should brace themselves for a long wait if they're hoping to try the new attraction for themselves on the first day.
Trip planning website Touring Plans estimates that the queue for the ride might be as long as six hours on the opening day .
The estimates are based on analysis of daily crowd sizes and average wait times at theme parks.
FastPass is the theme park's paid for reservation system that allows you to book a ride slot so you can skip the queues and go directly to the front when your allocated time comes up.
At the moment, the service is available for $10 (£7.84) per day.
Earlier this year, Sun Online Travel revealed how you could secure extra FastPass+ tickets at Walt Disney World resort in Florida, where Smugglers Run will debut in autumn 2019.
FastPass+ tickets are only available to guests staying at the resort, but it means they can get on any ride within 30 minutes.
It's not clear at the moment whether the new Star Wars ride will be part of the program.
If you don't care about being one of the first to get on the ride though, you'll be pleased to know that wait times generally settle down after a few months.
For example, the Avatar: Flight of Passage saw a six hour wait when it first opened last year but the average wait time is now down to two to three hours.
