Disneyland Paris gives a sneak peek at its new Marvel park – and it could be getting a new name
Disney fans are eagerly awaiting the opening of Disneyland Paris' new Marvel park that will open in 2020
DISNEYLAND Paris has given a first glimpse of what its new Marvel park will look like – and it looks very cool indeed.
A new artist’s impression of the park shows a look at the futuristic new space, complete with Spider-Man in the background.
The picture shows guests strolling through the park at sunset, with rides dedicated to their heroes such as Doctor Strange. It will open in 2020.
There will also be a reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster ride.
Riders will get the chance to team up with the Avengers, including Iron Man on what’s being dubbed a “high-speed, hyper-kinetic adventure”.
The ride, featuring Aerosmith, already exists at Disneyland Paris – and it’s currently the fastest roller coaster in France – but it’s getting a Marvel makeover.
It follows the changes to Disneyland‘s Tower Of Terror ride last year – which was transformed into the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! attraction.
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster isn’t the only Disneyland Paris attraction to get a makeover – the French theme park’s Hotel New York is also being redone as Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art Of Marvel.
The park at Disneyland Paris, which is currently called Walt Disney Studios Park, may also be about to get a brand new name.
reports that consultation documents for the park suggest it’s “possible” that the new Marvel zone might get renamed.
The plans state: “It is still a theme park based on Disney films and franchises, therefore, the name Studios is still valid.
“But it is true that we are transforming the Walt Disney Studios Park, it is possible that we consider another name, but we have not made any decision at this stage.”
