Mum reveals how to pack 200 items into ONE suitcase for a family holiday abroad
A MUM has revealed the clever way to pack 200 items into one suitcase, when going abroad as a family.
Karen Edwards, 35, known as “Travel Mad Mum” explained how she managed to fit all the belongings for a family of four into one bag.
The mum-of-two teamed up with holiday provider On the Beach to show how you can cram 200 items for a family-of-four into a single suitcase, and said it can even be kept under the 20kg limit imposed by most airlines.
In her video, Karen lays down the nappies for her youngest kid at the bottom of the suitcase before doing anything else.
She then uses different coloured bags for each member of her family’s stuff, which she says helps people avoid over-packing.
She also says to fold every single item as tightly as possible and also rolls some things in order to save space.
To keep clothes to a minimum, she recommends taking items that can be used for both dressing up or dressing down.
And if there are some garments you can’t be without, Karen advises wearing them on the plane.
Instead of carrying large bottles of shampoo and shower gel, the travel whizz recommends pouring them out into small pouches.
And she also makes sure to stuff cables, chargers and other small bits inside shoes.
Her top tips include doubling up towels as playmates and using vacuum bags to flatten clothes.
Here is another way to pack more items into your suitcase, which involves packing cubes.
And traveller Lydia Mansel who runs the packing website Just Packed, said travellers should pack up to two weeks ahead of time, so you aren’t caught short on holiday.
