World’s tallest double inversion rollercoaster has opened in the US – but are you brave enough to go on it?

THE world's fastest inversion rollercoaster is to open tomorrow, with passengers travelling from zero to 78mph in less than two seconds.

It is also the tallest double inverted rollercoaster in the world, standing at 175 feet above the ground.

The record-breaking Maxx Force coaster has opened at Six Flags Great America in Illinois.

Using air-powered launch systems, riders are propelled at the record speeds.

They are also taken along a zero-G roll at 60mph - another world record.

Passengers will experience five inversions on the terrifying ride.

It is only the second tallest rollercoaster in the park, just behind Raging Bull at 200 feet (60m), and is the 17th rollercoaster in the park.

In the video, passengers are propelled forward before immediately being thrown up a loop and along the inverted track.

Taking 25 seconds, guests can try out the ride for themselves from July 4.

Tickets to Six Flags Great America cost from $59.99 (£47.75) for a day pass, with 65 rides and attractions included.
