Spirit Airlines passengers scream in terror as a BAT flies through the plane cabin at 37,000ft
PASSENGERS travelling with Spirit Airlines were left screaming in terror after a bat flew through the cabin mid-flight.
The bat was spotted 30 minutes after the flight took off according to one of the passengers.
Twitter user Peter Scattini tweeted a video of the bat with the caption: "There is deadass a bat on this Spirit Airline."
He joked: "Me, twice a year: 'I'll never fly Spirit again.'
"Me, this morning, after deciding I'd rather save 12 dollars."
In the video, the bat flies down the middle of the cabin while a child screams in shock.
A Spirit Airlines spokesperson told Sun Online Travel: "Spirit Airlines can confirm a stowaway bat was located on one of our recent flights from Charlotte to Newark.
"The bat was eventually corralled into a lavatory and removed once on the ground by animal control officers. The aircraft was disinfected and searched as a precaution.
!It is believed the bat started its journey in Charlotte, flying into an overhead bin while our crews were doing overnight maintenance.
"No one was hurt in this incident, including the bat.
Another bat video quickly went viral on social media after it was caught flying around the home of an Irish family, leading to the son yelling "catch him" and swearing from the sidelines.
It isn't the only odd creature to have been spotted on a plane.
A terrified passenger spotted a large scorpion crawling through the overhead lockers during a Lion Air flight from Indonesia.
