DRACULA viewers were blindsided by a sensational twist at the end of last night's episode.
The bloodthirsty villain spent four weeks aboard the Demeter ship, picking off its passengers one by one as it sailed from Romania to England.
After being outed as the one responsible for the grisly murders by the remaining crew and travellers, he made the final stretch of his journey on foot as he trudged along the seabed.
However, when he arrived on English soil he was confronted by the sound of a helicopter, armed police and a modern looking Agatha Van Helsing with time seemingly having jumped forward more than 100 years.
It took viewers by surprise, with one writing on Twitter: "#Dracula .. Blimey .. I did not see that twist coming .. absolutely brilliant 📺 🧛♂️."
Another shared: "Well, I was not expecting that ending! #Dracula."
As a third posted: "Wait, WHAT!? Well, that explains it. Bad. Ass. #Dracula."
Many are desperate to tune in tomorrow to see the finale.
One keen viewer said: "Did not see that #Dracula ending coming...so I guess I'll be tuning in tomorrow to see how it all pans out."
There was confusion from the off, with Dracula casually playing a game of chess against Agatha despite their bloody confrontation at the end of episode one.
As they took it in turns to make their moves, Dracula recalled his crossing to England and how he carefully selected the crew's seven passengers.
Viewers watched the master manipulator sank his teeth into their necks one by one as his bloodlust ran wild.
Agatha likened him to a "fox in a hen coop" while Dracula preferred "a connoisseur in a wine cellar."
However, as more of the journey's detail was unveiled it was revealed that Agatha was on the boat herself in a dream like state, unaware the vampire had kidnapped her from the convent.
When the horror of the tale dawned on her, she watched in horror as Dracula enjoyed a glass of her blood.
He gleefully said: "One does not hurry such a vintage. I've been making you last."
As the numbers back aboard the ship began to dwindle, the passengers grew suspicious of Dracula and knocked on his cabin door.
When they entered, they found a bloodied Agatha on her back.

Dracula insisted she was to blame for the killings, and the blood on her clothes was proof.
The crew tied her up on the deck, but using her quick wit she drew blood from her lip and spat at the vampire to draw out his true carnal instincts.
Unable to hide his true identity, Dracula temporarily fled as the crew rushed to Agatha's aid.
Part three of Dracula airs tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.
