THE Caped Crusader is heading back to the big screen with a brand new Batman.
The role has been made famous by many actors over the years and now there is a new Dark Knight in town.
Who is the new Batman?
On May 31, 2019, it was finally confirmed that Robert Pattinson WILL play The Batman in Matt Reeves' upcoming superhero movie.
The handsome star takes over from Ben Affleck for the forthcoming film The Batman.
The film is expected to be released on June 25, 2021.
On February 14, 2020, the first look at R-Patz in his bat gear was released.
A trailer for the highly anticipated movie was released on August 22 showing R-Patz in the famous Batman suit.
Who else has played Batman?
There have been many actors who have nabbed the coveted role of the caped crusader - some good, some not so good.
We take you through all the men who have uttered those famous words "I am the Batman".
Adam West
Adam was one of the most famous Batmans.
He starred in the role from 1966 through 1968 in the Batman television series and the film spin-off.
Adam sadly passed away in 2017.
Michael Keaton
Michael took on the role for two Batman movies.
He starred in Tim Burton's Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992).
However, his casting in the role caused such controversy that 50,000 protest letters were sent to Warner Brothers’ offices.
Val Kilmer
put on the suit in 1995 and received mixed reviews.
Director Joel Schumacher called the actor “childish and impossible."
He was only in one movie, Batman Forever, and wasn't asked back
George Clooney
Next up we have gorgeous George.
But it's safe to assume Clooney regrets his decision to star in Batman & Robin in 1997.
It was the worst box-office performer of the modern Batman movies and Clooney once joked that he killed the series.
Christian Bale
Step up Christian Bale - who is largely considered as the best actor to play the Dark Knight.
He received high acclaim for Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
Christian stepped down from the role to pursue other projects, much to the dismay of fans.

Ben Affleck
Poor old Ben.
Fans were not happy when he was cast in the role in 2015.
However, he gave it his best shot and played the Dark Knight in the 2016 films Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
