Altered Carbon fans ‘absolutely devastated’ as Netflix cancels sci-fi thriller after just two seasons
ALTERED Carbon won't be returning for a third series on Netflix, much to fans' dismay.
The sci-fi thriller won a loyal fanbase with its high production values, epic fight scenes and beautiful visuals, but that wasn't enough to save it from the chop.
According to Deadline, the decision was made back in April and kept under wraps.
It's reportered that the reaosn behind the cancellation was the high cost of the show relative to the audience it pulled in.
Strangest of all is the fact that the show's boss has been teasing fans with what they could expect in a third season in recent months.
Netflix has previously admitted that viewership for a lot of shows tends to tail off after two series amid a raft of cancellations.

The likes of The Society and I Am Not Okay with This were axed just this week as Netflix confirmed filming under social distancing guidelines would be too expensive.
Before that, Santa Clarita Diet and One Day at a Time were also cancelled.
Altered Carbon fans were quick to take to Twitter to express their horror at the show being scrapped.
"No, no no, this is terrible news, I knew Anthony Mackie probably wasn't returning but I did wanted to see where the story took us next," one disappointed user wrote.
