Black Work viewers distracted by Sheridan Smith’s ‘unrecognisable’ transformation – claiming she’s ‘a different woman’

SHERIDAN Smith has taken over TV screens in the last week with her parenting documentary and ITV drama Black Work.

Fans of the British actress were moved this week as she broke down in tears on candid fly-on-the-wall show Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum.

She also popped up on three-part crime thriller Black Work, which was repeated by the broadcaster on Monday night.

Sheridan, 39, play a police officer called Jo, whose husband is murdered.

Unable to leave the investigation to her colleagues, Jo starts to distrust them and goes behind their backs to find the killer herself.

However, fans were just as transfixed by Sheridan's dramatically different look from 2013 as they were the twists and turns of the plot.

They took to Twitter to remark on how different the star looked with a stiking, dark pixie cut compared to her current flowing, blonde locks.

"Bloody hell I didn't recognise Sheridan Smit on Black Work at first - looks like a different person with that hair! Beautiful, though," one user remarked.

This prompted a second to reply: "Agree she's unrecognisable, one of those annoying people who looks good with every haircut lol."

Meanwhile a third user wrote: "She looks so young and fresh faced with that hair, very striking. I'm a big fan."

A fourth simply remarked: "Wow looked totally different back then, think I prefer the long hair actually."

Sheridan's dramatic hairdo wasn't the only talking point, others claimed they were left "exhausted" by the various double bluffs and hidden motives in the episode.

Sheridan was praised earlier this week for "breaking taboos" by talking about her struggled with motherhood.

Black Work continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
