The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco gushes over co-star Kunal Nayyar after he bags role in Netflix’s Criminal

THE Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco proved the ties between the Sci Fi show bunch remain strong as she praised former co-star Kunal Nayyar's latest project.

The actress, who played Cheesecake Factory worker Penny in the hit sitcom, was quick to applaud the Raj Koothrappali actor's latest role with a host of Emoji clapping icons.

Alongside Kunal's Instagram image, revealing his role in gritty Kit Harington series, Criminal, she gushed: "This looks so good!!"

In CBS show The Big Bang Theory, Raj had a long-standing crush on Penny and often found himself unable to speak in her presence.

She accidentally slept with him when she was drunk - after which she insisted they stay friends.

Keeping their telly bond alive, Kaley's reply notched up 864 likes from fans at the time of writing, showing they appreciated her well-wishes, as one gushed: " I love how you commented and are still in touch, it makes me so happy to see that my favourite show's actors are still friends."

Announcing his new TV role, Kunal posted in his Instagram caption: "Very excited to share… Criminal U.K. Season 2!

"A dream project, with a dream team of actors, writers, directors, and producers. September 16th, @netflix."

It has been revealed he will take the role of Sandeep Singh, a convicted killer who attempts to trade a deal in return for information he has.

Yet the team are unsure whether his bargain is genuine - and it remains to be seen whether it is successful.

Meanwhile Mr Selfridge actress Katherine Kelly also starred in the Netflix drama, with her first major role as Becky McDonald on the British soap Coronation Street - a character she played from 2006 until 2012.

Netflix has described the programme as a “stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama” which “focuses on the intense mental conflict between detectives and suspects.”

The unique stories, which last series were based in France, the UK, Germany and Spain, filmed each episode in that specific language, while the episodes are entirely filmed within the confines of a police interview room.
