FANS of Doctor Foster are loving the BBC's Doctor Foster spin-off series, Life, which has got everyone talking.
Life follows the lives of four people and their interweaving stories about love, parenthood, loss and self-discovery.
Where is BBC's Life filmed?
Life is set in a fictional house that's been divided into four flats and follows those that reside there.
As each of the four separate strands unfold, they tell a larger story about what happens when we decide to step out of our own personal space and take a closer look into other people’s lives.
The cast of Life includes Alison Steadman, as Gail, Victoria Hamilton, who reprises her Doctor Foster role of Anna Baker with the new name of Belle Stone, Adrian Lester, who plays David and Melissa Johns, as Hannah.
Manchester
The show was filmed in and around Manchester.
Viewers will notice many of the city’s landmarks:
- The Beetham Tower Hilton
- John Rylands Library
- The Town Hall
- The Bridgewater Hall
Speaking about the decision to film in Manchester, writer Mike Bartlett told the BBC: "Manchester is a world of its own. It's both normal and extraordinary. Everyday and remarkable."
He added: "One has the feeling anything could happen there. It's also beautiful and I love seeing that on screen."
Meanwhile, Liverpool-born actress Alison Steadman returned to her northern roots to film the series.
She told the BBC: “You might be living in close proximity, but it’s quite a normal thing where you go, ‘Oh hi,’ when you bump into your neighbours and then you don’t say anything else, so you don’t really know what’s going on with each other’s lives.”
