What is The Savoy about?

ITV’s The Savoy is back for a second series, as we step inside one of Britain’s most expensive and historic hotels.

After the most turbulent time in its history, when the pandemic forced it to close its doors, the hotel is back open with a new MD, Franck Arnold in charge.

This access-all-areas series follows hotel life in the aftermath of the pandemic, during one of the most challenging times for the hospitality industry.

Having lost tens of millions of pounds in revenue The Savoy is battling to stay at the top in the fiercely competitive, London luxury hotel market.

Franck Arnold has big plans: a flagship £16,000 a night Royal Suite newly made over by Gucci, a new restaurant in partnership with Gordon Ramsay and the refurbishment of the hotel's world-famous American Bar, London’s original cocktail bar.

With exclusive behind-the-scenes access the series transports viewers both upstairs and downstairs, from guests and famous faces walking through the gilded revolving doors, to the army of staff catering to their every request.

Who stars in The Savoy?

Opened in 1889, The Savoy has 267 rooms, four restaurants, the oldest cocktail bar in London and 600 staff members making it all run smoothly.

This second series sees the return of Head Butler Sean who has been promoted to Guest Experience Manager and now oversees the doormen, the concierge and the porters, as well as the butlers.

In the fully booked Savoy Grill restaurant, director Thierry is overjoyed to be back serving his glamorous customers with his renowned flair.

After a challenging start to life at The Savoy, Michael is now one of Sean’s most trusted butlers and is up for a prestigious hospitality award.

As well as the return of some familiar faces, the hotel has seen an influx of new staff, all getting to grips with the Savoy’s five-star standards.
