BETA met a bitter end in The Walking Dead's season 10 finale at the hands of Daryl Dixon.
The formidable warrior, played by Beta Hurst, led The Whisperers' horde of zombies into battle against the allied communities, seeking revenge in the wake of Alpha's (Samantha Morton) death.

However, he met his match in Daryl (Norman Reedus), who slashed him across the arm before driving two hunting knives into his eyes.
He was subsequently eaten alive by the very zombies he had lead into battle in a major case of just desserts.
Now Hurst has revealed his thoughts on the dramatic exit, claiming he couldn't have asked for a better demise.
"When his death came around, I had this beautiful idea of Thich Quang Duc, who was one of the the Vietnamese monks who lit themselves on fire in protest of the Vietnam War and just sort of sat there," he told Entertainment Weekly.
Referencing Beta's sense of acceptance, he went on: "Being a fan of the show, we've seen so many deaths where there's people screaming and ripped apart.

"I was just like, as a fan, I wanted to see somebody have a slow, peaceful tearing apart, and it felt very organic to throw that out there. And they said that they loved it."
He concluded: "So after he gets stabbed in the face is after that, him just being slowly welcoming, very peacefully welcoming death was very, very sweet."
The comments were echoed by Reedus, who said he was also thrilled with how the scene turned out.
"I felt really good about it. I really like Ryan, and I hate to see Ryan go because he's such a cool guy... He's a good friend of mine, but there was a lot of work that went into that death," he previously told Digital Spy.

Unfortunately Reedus found himself in hot water with some The Walking Dead fans this week.
He took to Instagram to share a picture of Daryl looming over Beta with his knives drawn, alongside the caption: "Love [heart] this guy."
Fans quickly took to the comments section to accuse him of giving the death away too early.
Other aspects from the finale that proved to be divisive included the mysterious 'masked man' - who remained unidentified.
