Much like in season 1 the array of investigations are extremely varied in nature, with topics including a lady in a lake, tsunami ghosts, stolen kids, a death in Oslo, the Washington Insider Murder, and a death row fugitive.

The most eager of fans have already started working their way through the episodes and were left more than a little disturbed.

They took to Twitter to air their thoughtd about the new series, which they claimed was "even freakier" than its predecessor.

One user wrote: "Started season 2 of Unsolved Mysteries and already know I'm not gonna sleep tonight," alongside a wailing emoji.

Another added: "Okay I'm only a couple of episodes in but Unsolved Mysteries is even weirder and freakier this time around [in my opinion]. Nightmares inbound [shaking my head]."
