Kristen Bell to front dark new Netflix comedy The Woman in the House about ‘wine-chugging, heartbroken’ singleton

KRISTEN Bell will front a dark new Netflix series The Woman in the House.

The actress is set to make her TV comeback playing a "wine-chugging, heartbroken" singleton in the murder comedy.

The new series heading to the giant streaming platform was created by Nobodies' Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf.

Kirsten, 40, will return to the small screen as Anna, who lives opposite a man who she gradually starts to think has been killed.

The show's official synopsis for the show reads: "For heartbroken Anna, every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her.

"But when a handsome neighbour moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?"

Step Brothers star Will Ferrell, will executive produce the show along with Jessica Elbaum and Brittney Segal.

As well as creating the show, Ramras, Davidson and Dorf will also act as showrunners for the new series.

Kristen starred as Eleanor Shellstrop in NBC fantasy comedy The Good Place, which ran from 2016 to January 2020.

The American has already begun planning for her new show, as she posted a photo on Instagram surrounded by a pile of books.
