With magic, monsters and some steamy sex scenes, The Witcher quickly amassed a global fanbase - but the road to season 2 has been a rocky one.
Given the show's high production values, filming and editing is already a big undertaking, but the global coronavirus pandemic brought the process to a halt.
Fortunately the cast are back in action now and while new episodes still have no release date, they're expected to drop at some point in 2021.
In the meaintime, here are our top predictions for what's to come in season 2.
Ciri masters her powers
Ciri's (Freya Allan) powers began to manifest in 's debut season, in the form of a seismic sonic scream.
However, the last we saw of her, she had very little control of her abilities, making her a danger to those around her.
Now she has crossed paths with Geralt though, no doubt she'll learn to master them.
Geralt possesses powers of his own as a Witcher and will likely train her to put her own skills to use in combat and self-defence.
We're expecting all manner of training montages, as well as some pretty epic battle sequences with Ciri proving her mettle.
Yennefer's baby woes
Fans will remember how Yennefer's (Anya Chalotra) relationship with her body proved to be both a magical and emotional rollercoaster.
The mage extraordinaire sacrificed her fertility to be rid of her spine and jaw problems and achieve breathtaking beauty.
However, she went on to regret the decision after realising she wanted a child after all.

She began to seeek all manner of potential remedies with no luck, often putting herself in danger in the process.
Will Yennefer take even more drastic measures to try and restore her fertility in season 2?
If we know anything about the character it's that she doesn't take no for an answer, so we wouldn't be surprised.
The war on mages
Speaking of Yennefer, she proved to be one of the only survivors from the brutal Battle of Sodden.
However, it seems tough times are ahead for Yennefer, if the are anything to go by.
She is shown with matted hair and a scab on her right cheek while sitting in what appears to be a prison.
MORE ON THE WITCHER
The mage looks frightened, with her eyebrows pressed into a concerned frown while ominous red light illuminates the background of the gloomy chamber.
Another image is a snap of Yennefer's left hand clasped in a chain, which her right hand appears to be urgently pulling at to break free.
Clearly Yenneder has been incarcerated for standing with her fellow mages in the battle, but is more persecution on the way for magic users as Nilfgaard continues to march north?
Heartbreak for Geralt
The frosty Geralt finally opened up his heart to Yennefer and was left crushed when he convinced himself she'd been slaughtered at Sodden.
Since we know that season 2 kicks off after a substantial time jump and Yennefer has been locked away, it's likely he'll still be under that impression when the show returns and will have spent years mourning her.
If they are eventually reunited he'll be faced with the choice of reopening old wounds and learning to love again or closing the door on a potential romance for good - both of which are likely to take their toll.
