Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh reveals plans for season 4 and explains why filming with social distancing could never work

SANDRA Oh has lifted the lid on plans for season 4 and the pitfalls that come with new coronavirus guidelines.

The Eve Polastri actress, who also serves as a producer on the show, admitted the global Covid-19 pandemic has thrown a major spanner in the works when it comes to filming new episodes.

Speaking to USA today, the 49-year-old stressed that the BBC thriller wouldn't resume production until 2021 at the absolute earliest.

She claimed that operating under current social distancing rules would impact the dramatic action sequences and the overall cinematic nature of the shooting, something the team weren't willing to compromise on.

When asked about whether they've be returning to set anytime soon, she explained: "Not in the foreseeable future, we've definitely pushed an entire year. Our shooting would've been right in the middle of now, from July through to December."

Instead, the provisional timeframe takes production up until the end of 2021, meaning season 4 wouldn't drop until 2022.

"Hopefully we'll start up next year in that timeframe. We don't know, we just don't know," she went on.

The integrity of the show - which is an international film - we don't wanna give that up. Because then that would be... not the show.

"There is something very heightened about our show, so it has its own world and rules. So we need to at least keep that tone and flavour," she concluded.

With Killing Eve on hold, Oh's co-star Jodie Comer has been filming all manner of other projects.
