The iconic Star Wars characters The Mandalorian fans are desperate to see in season 2 on Disney+
STAR Wars fans are reaching fever pitch as the second season of The Mandalorian is just days away from premiering on Disney+.
While the space western has so far focused on new characters such as the titular Mando, The Child and Cara Dune, many fans are hopeful some memorable characters from the Star Wars films will make an appearance at some point.
While there's talk of Boba Fett's comeback doing the rounds, here are some of the other Star Wars characters viewers think could plausibly show up in the series.
C-3PO and R2-D2
The most famous pair of all the droids, C-3PO and R2-D2 have been part of the Star Wars universe since the first film in 1977.
Considering The Mandalorian is set after the events of Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens, the droids are around and if Mando ever crossed paths with the Resistance, he could easily bump into them.
Lando Calrissian
Lando - played by Billy Dee Williams in the original films before making a cameo appearance in The Rise of Skywalker - has crossed paths with a Mandalorian before.
He famously handed Princess Leia and the Rebels over to the Empire via Boba Fett, who was a bounty hunter just like Mando. As part of the galaxy's shady underworld, its not implausible that he could cross paths with him.
Unkar Plutt
Simon Pegg plays Unkar in the films, a junk trader on Jakku who ends up double crossing Rey.
While Mando is on a mission to return The Child - aka Baby Yoda - to its people, he could use somewhere like Jakku to keep a low profile from the Empire, crossing paths with Unkar in the process potentially.
Maz Kanata
Played by Lupita Nyong'o, Maz Kanata is a character who has incredible knowledge of The Force without being a Jedi or a Sith.
Her expertise makes her well known in the Galaxy, and with Mando wanting to know more about The Child and who it needs returning to, he could potentially pay her a visit to see what she knows.

Captain Phasma
Captain Phasma has reached the ranks of leader by The Force Awakens, but as The Mandalorian is set before that, fans could be given the chance to see her rise through the stormtrooper ranks on the show, especially with Moff Gideon and his connections to the First Order already in play on the show.
Season two of The Mandalorian premieres on Disney this Friday.
