The likes of Edie Falco, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Steve Buscemi will join forces with show creator David Chase.

The event will benefit Friends of Firefighters, a not-for-profit organisation founded following the events of 9/11 to support New York firefighters and their families.

Cast will get together once again after last year's reunion to mark the show's 20th anniversary.

The classic mob drama first aired in 1999 and ran for six seasons before ending in 2007.

"Friends of Firefighters is a crucial support service for our firefighters and I’m looking forward to reuniting with my friends to help raise some awareness and funds for this wonderful organisation."

News of the reunion comes ahead of the release of The Sopranos prequel, The Many Saints of Newark, next year.
