CHANNEL 5's new series The Drowning is a harrowing watch.
The series follows a grieving mother as she becomes convinced her presumed dead son has returned under a new identity. Produced by Bulletproof and Doctor Who star Noel Clarke, the series features some familiar faces.

Jill Halfpenny as Jodie
Jill Halfpenny stars as Jodie, a mum convinced that she’s found her missing son.
Halfpenny is best known for her roles in several iconic British series, including Coronation Street and EastEnders.
She also appeared in Waterloo Road as Izzie Redpath and was Diane Manning in drama In The Club.
Her other appearances include Wild at Heart and Ordinary Lies.
Jonas Armstrong as Jason
Jonas Armstrong stars opposite Halfpenny as Jodie's brother Jason.
The Irish actor is is known for playing the lead character in BBC's Robin Hood series in 2006.
Armstrong has also appeared in The Street, Agatha Christie's Marple, Troy:Fall Of A City and Line of Duty.
He also appeared in ITV's The Bay as Sean Meredith, and featured in horror film Look the Other Way and Run.
Cody Molko as Daniel
Cody Molko stars as a young boy named Daniel, with whom Jodie becomes obsessed.
This is Molko's first TV role but he has voiced video game characters in the past.
He also has a role in upcoming TV series Shadow and Bone.
Rupert Penry-Jones as Mark
Penry-Jones is best known for playing barrister Clive Reader in the BBC legal drama Silk.
He also played Adam Carter in hit spy drama Spooks and DI Joseph Chandler in Whitechapel.
The actor also starred in Alan Rickman's A Little Chaos opposite Kate Winslet.
Deborah Findlay as Lynn
Deborah Findlay stars as Jodie's mother Lynn.
Findlay is best known for her roles in the BBC period drama Cranford and ITV's The Last Train.
She has also appeared in Silent Witness and Midsomer Murders.
Jade Anouka as Yasmin
Jade Anouka is best known for her roles in TV series Chewing Gum, in which she played Danny, and for appearing in Stan Lee's Lucky Man.
She also played Alana Allerton in ITV's psychological thriller drama Trauma.
Anouka was a series regular in ITV project Clean Break opposite Sheridan Smith.
Babs Olusanmokun plays Ade
Olusanmokun has starred in Amazon original series including crime drama miniseries Too Old to Die Young and The Widow.
He also featured in Marvel series The Defenders.
Olusanmokun also played Clayton in the Black Mirror episode Black Museum.
What is The Drowning about?
The Drowning follows mum Jodie, who lost her son Tom after he went missing on a family outing to a lake nine years prior. The family presumed him dead, suspecting he had drowned in the lake.
The series begins as Jodie spots a young boy, around the age that Tom should now be.
The grieving mother becomes convinced that he is her long-lost son, and disguises herself as a music teacher at his school in order to get close to him.

The Drowning aired its first episode on Monday, February 1.
