However, it wasn't enough to save Aston - who lost out to Badger and Sausage.
The JLS star received all round praise from the judges for his performance.
Aston said: "Brilliant. Loved it," then when asked if the rest of his band know he's on here, he said: "No, so - hi guys!"
The judges mostly guessed right for Aston Merrygold in the final - but Jonathan Ross punted for Alexandra Burke.

Judges Rita Ora, Jonathan, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall offered a wide range of guesses throughout, including Olly Murs, Lee Ryan, Gareth Gates, James Blunt, , Craig David, Jack Grealish, and even Big Narstie.
Robin mentioned being "usually blue", which caused Davina to speculate if it could be Lee Ryan from Blue.
But the colour blue was a staple throughout Aston's JLS career and influenced his red carpet outfits and was used on merchandise, including their JLS branded condoms.
