Mama June, 41, revealed in an exclusive interview with The Sun that she and her youngest daughter are still working on their relationship after she completed a 25-day rehab stint and has remained sober for 14 months.
Mama June told The Sun: “We’re still trying to make that amends and make sure we are straight.
“If I can’t be straight, I can’t be straight for somebody else. We’ve only been through six episodes. We’re still writing our real reality story.”
June added that she has a sit-down with her teen daughter that will be featured on the upcoming season of .
Last season, viewers watched as Honey Boo Boo broke down and struggled with her mother’s absence.
June admitted she ‘didn’t watch’ the show last season, as she was “too busy getting f**ked up” and “didn’t want to face reality.”
Mama June, who is also working on “making amends” with daughters Lauryn, 20, Jessica, 24, and Anna, 26, has remained in Florida with Geno, while her family is in Georgia.
“I connected with a lot of the rehabs in our town. I have opened up my social media. I help fans from the United States to the UK to Scotland.”
The upcoming season will focus on Mama June’s “road to redemption.”
She said: “We want to show that there is life before addiction, there is life during addiction and there is life after addiction. And you will see all of that throughout the show. Laughing with us, crying with us, praying with us at times silently, and riding this amazing journey.
“Our real life is our sobriety and our amends with the kids and what’s going on in the kids’ lives. That’s what you’ll see. Road to redemption across the board.”
In a trailer for the upcoming season, Pumpkin said: “She just wants us all to go back to the way things used to be, but after destroying our family, we aren’t sure we want her in our lives.
“We don’t even know if she’s still sober. I don’t know if this can ever be repaired.”
Honey Boo Boo was seen crying in one scene: “You don’t know how many nights I’ve cried myself to sleep.”
Mama said in her confessional: “I’ve got to continuously show Pumpkin that I’ve changed.
“I guess I didn’t realize how much I’ve f**ked everybody. I want to say I’m sorry, but I need to show that I’m sorry.”
Mama June and Geno were arrested for possession of a controlled substance - crack cocaine - and possession of drug paraphernalia - a crack pipe - in March 2019.
The case remains ongoing.
The Sun was the first to exclusively report that Mama June and Geno entered rehab.
They checked into a rehab facility in Florida on the season finale of Mama June: From Not to Hot: Family Crisis.
Geno admitted the two spent $150,000 in six months on crack cocaine.
Geno said of if they continue to their “vicious” lifestyle: “We’re not going to be alive.”
Mama June said after completing rehab: “The old June is back! I’m feeling good. Being back to my old self. I am definitely an addict. Nobody can tell what six months looks like. You can only take it a day at a time.
