Too Close cast: Who stars in the ITV drama?
ITV's latest thriller documents the struggle of a forensic psychiatrist who tackles her most difficult case yet.
The psychological drama is based on the book of the same name and features a number of respected names, including Chernobyl star Emily Watson. Here is everything you need to know about the cast and crew.

Emily Watson as Dr Emma Robertson
Emily Watson is a hugely successful actor, best known for her work in the critically acclaimed Sky drama Chernobyl.
She has also occupied leading roles in BBC One’s Apple Tree Yard; and the BAFTA-winning drama Appropriate Adult for ITV.
Watson is the only member of the Too Close cast to have once been nominated for an Academy Award.
In the thriller, she plays the role of Dr Emma Robertson - a forensic psychiatrist who becomes uncomfortably close with one of her patients.

Denise Gough as Connie Mortensen
Much of Denise Gough's previous success has stemmed from performances on-stage.
A two-time Olivier Award winner for her roles in People, Places and Things and Angels in America, Gough has enjoyed an illustrious theatre career.
She does also have a lot of experience on-screen and even appeared alongside castmate Emily Watson in BBC's Apple Tree Yard.
In Too Close, Denise depicts the role of Connie Mortensen, Dr Robertson's patient.
She is described as the ‘yummy mummy monster’. Before her arrest, she was a married work-from-home mum.

Thalissa Teixeira as Ness Jones
A less established name than some of her castmates, Teixeira's acting CV includes features Sky comedy drama Two Weeks to Live and the BBC Two romantic drama Trigonometry.
Viewers of Too Close will meet Teixeira's character Ness Jones courtesy of flashbacks from Connie, who was both her neighbour and friend.

Jamie Sives as Karl Mortensen
Another castmate who has already featured alongside lead Emily Watson, Sives also made an appearance in Chernobyl.
As well as Too Close, Sives is preparing to take on the role of DS Michael McAndrews in the upcoming series Annika.
When it comes to his role in this thriller, he portrays Connie’s husband and father to their daughter Annie, another pair that we meet exclusively in flashbacks.

The bulk of Karl Johnson's most famous work have come in comedies, including Hot Fuzz and Armando Ianucci's The Death of Stalin.

Nina Wadia as Dr Anita Rhys Evans
Wadia is a familiar face to British soap fans, as she played the role of Zainab on long-running soap EastEnders for six years.
She also starred in the 2019 remake of Disney classic Aladdin alongside Will Smith.
In the latest ITV thriller, Wadia plays Dr Anita Rhys Evans, a local woman whom we meet in a flashback at a street party early on in the series.
When does Too Close start?
Too Close will air on consecutive evenings on ITV.

The first episode began at 9pm on Monday, April 12 2021, with the series coming to a close on Wednesday, April 14.
The three-part series will air again on Tuesday evening before concluding on Wednesday, with all three episodes starting at 9pm on ITV.
