THE Talk's Sheryl Underwood broke down in tears and said she has "PSTD" from her battle with Sharon Osbourne in the first show following a long hiatus.
Amanda Kloots, Elaine Welteroth, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Sheryl sat down together for the first time in over a month after over the explosive on-camera fight.
During today's episode of , Sheryl began with a monologue to the cameras.
"It's time for an episode of the Talk that is unlike any other we've had before," she said.
"We haven't been together in the studio since the week of March 10. During our break, Sharon decided to leave The Talk.
"We need to process the events of that day and what's happened since so we can get to the healing.
"We will honestly discuss what occurred and will explore some of our feelings. We want everyone to feel empowered and ready to move forward."
Socio-cultural analyst Dr. Donald E Grant then joined the ladies on stage to discuss how they could make the show – and the country – without the tension escalating as it did with .
When Dr Grant asked Sheryl how she felt coming back for the first time after the show's hiatus, she told him: "I'm nervous but I'm ready.
"It's a safe space right now," she added as she looked around the room at her co-hosts.
Dr. Grant applauded Sheryl for her self-control during the talk with Sharon, and she responded: " because I thought I was having a conversation with a friend.
"But also I feel I had to be an example for others to follow because I didn't want to be perceived as the angry Black woman. That really scared me, I didn't want to be that.
"I wanted to remain calm and focused. I just feel the trauma. I feel fearful and apprehensive.
"It is difficult to go back to that day because I feel the trauma. That really scared me."
Continuing with their discussion this afternoon, co-host Elaine applauded Sheryl for her response to the fight and said: "I want to acknowledge you Sheryl, on-air, for how you handled that situation.
"I didn't feel that I was heard, and that saddened me," she said when she reminisced the moment she tried to help Sheryl make her point to Sharon.
Elaine further insisted she and Sheryl did not gang up on Sharon on camera, as in an interview.
"The false accusations that are swirling in the press that frame Sheryl and I as people who attacked a woman on air as part of a conspiracy, that is absolutely, categorically false! It's really important that people hear that," she said.
Sheryl further commented that she really wanted to move past the "PTSD" that she suffered from that day - and insisted she did not lie about not speaking with Sharon after the incident.
"I have not spoken to and , but I do have text messages sent to me. The reason I have not responded to those messages is because there was an internal investigation happening,"
She claimed she has no bad blood toward Sharon, and would definitely say hello to her if she were to see her again, because they had been friends and co-workers for over ten years.
Toward the end of the episode, Sheryl begged those at home to "stick with us because we're about talking things out, laughing with each other and healing together."
