STAR Wars Day has been marked with the launch of all new series The Bad Batch from Disney Plus.
But for avid fans of the epic space world franchise, the question is whether it will top recent offerings like The Mandalorian.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an animated series that follows on from Clone Wars, focussing on a squad of genetically special clone troopers introduced in the final season.
The official description for the series reads: "Star Wars: The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.
"Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew."
Both The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian are produced by Dave Filoni, who was responsible for The Clone Wars.
He is also the creator of Star Wars Rebels, which ran on from 2014-2018.
And like The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch will be available to watch exclusively on streaming service Disney Plus.
The first episode is a 70-minute special released today (May 4) on the unofficial Star Wars Day.
It will then be followed by episode two on Friday, May 7, with new episodes being released every following Friday.
Dee Bradley Baker will be voicing ALL of the members of The Bad Batch.
He previously lent his voice to the entire clone army in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
He also voiced Captain Rex in some episodes of Star Wars Rebels.

Avid fans will be excited to see crossover between the two series with Mandalorian star Ming-Na Wen voicing the younger version of her character Fennec.
Andrew Kishino will voice revolutionary Saw Gerrera, while Stephen Stanton will play Grand Moff Tarkin.
As for whether the animated offering tops the live action Mandalorian?
Well, that's all a matter of preference but true Star Wars fans will be happy for the chance to rate another addition to the franchise.
