Katie Price says she’ll marry fiance Carl Woods in the next six months so her terminally ill mum can attend wedding
KATIE Price has vowed to marry fiance Carl Woods in the next six months so that her terminally ill mum can attend the wedding.
The TV star revealed the heartbreaking reason she is keen to walk down the aisle as soon as possible with Carl, 32, on Good Morning Britain today.
Katie – who had lip filler injections yesterday – addressed her dying mum live on GMB earlier, and explained: “We’ve discussed (the wedding) with his parents yesterday and my mum.
“They came up at the weekend and met all the parents. And obviously, my mum’s terminally ill – my mum’s watching, love you mum and yes it’s the same as when you were here, I was late again and she’s going to have a go at me as I had my lips done yesterday, yes I did it, whatever, she said don’t you dare do it before you go on telly – anyway, obviously she’s terminally ill and she said she wants us to get married so she sees it.”
Carl, 32, continued: “We’ll get married this year and it will be very different to everything Kate’s done before.”
And Katie agreed, adding: “Completely different, my dress will be different, I will look different and my mind is different and I know so many people out there ‘Yeah we’ve heard this before’ – yeah because before I’ve rushed into things so much, made wrong choices, but my head wasn’t right. My head is so right now, I’m a different person.”
Amy, 64, suffers from idopathic pulmonary fibrosis and is holding out hope for a lung transplant.
She’s permanently on home oxygen therapy, and only has 32 per cent lung capacity left.
Amy constantly feels out of breath, and can no longer be as active as she once was.
Katie recently said Amy turned to the British Lung Foundation for support and advice and was told to make the most of the time she has left.
She told Northern Ireland’s Nolan Live last month: “Just build memories, take lots of pictures, that’s all you can do really. You know it’s coming and have to learn to deal with it.”
Amy also appeared on Good Morning Britain via Zoom alongside Katie from their respective homes in March.
She told former host Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid at the time that she has “no hope” of surviving if she catches Covid or even a cold.
“I’m very up and down really, to be honest with you,” said Amy. “Obviously it’s terminal and I should imagine I’m in the last couple of years now.
“What with Covid and everything, if I catch a cold or Covid there’s just no hope, so that would be the end of it for me.
“But positively, I’m hoping, I’m pushing to see if I can get on the transplant list.”
