Inside Innocent star Katherine Kelly’s shock split with husband Ryan after moving out of London home
KATHERINE Kelly is set to make a triumphant return to telly tonight in new hotly-anticipated ITV drama Innocent.
But behind closed doors and away from the cameras, the actress, 41, has been dealing with the break up of her marriage.
The Sun exclusively revealed last September how the Liar star had split from her husband of seven years, Ryan Clark
News of the marriage coming to an end came to light after removal staff were seen taking belongings from her house.
Former Corrie star Katherine met Aussie digital analyst Ryan Clark in 2011 and they wed in Las Vegas in 2013.
The couple, who have two daughters Orla, six, and Rose, three, have sold their North London home and she has now relocaed to the north of England to be closer to her family and hometown of Barnsley.
A spokesman told The Sun at the time: “Katherine and Ryan have made the difficult decision to separate.
“They see it as a positive move for both of them and the separation is completely amicable.
“Their children are their top priority and they will continue to co-parent as good friends.”
The actress found fame on the ITV soap playing recovering heroin addict Becky McDonald.
A source said: “It’s tremendously sad that it hasn’t worked out, but their decision to split wasn’t a rash one and their relationship isn’t a victim of the recent lockdown.
“They’ve thought about the future of their family long and hard and know that this is the best decision. They’re on great terms and constantly in touch discussing their kids.”
Katherine has also starred in Mr Selfridge, Cheat, Gentleman Jack and Happy Valley.
The actress previously opened up before about juggling motherhood with her career.
She said: “I’ve got a much better work balance than I had ten years ago.”
