Channel 5’s Anne Boleyn viewers rage over major blunders as they spot ‘inaccuracies’ in the historical drama
CHANNEL 5's Anne Boleyn viewers were left raging over major blunders as they spot "inaccuracies" in the historical drama.
It's true to life depiction will catalogue the final days and hours of Anne's life, ultimately leading to her death which occurred in 1536.
However, eagle-eyed viewers were not impressed after spotting a series of "outrageous" historical errors.
In tonight's episode, viewers watched Anne walking enjoy a brief walk on her own outside of her grounds, but noticed that she was not accompanied by a guard.
Viewers were also left questioning the size of the characters very "small Manor homes".
One angry viewer wrote: "Watched Anne Boleyn on channel 5, the outrageous historical inaccuracy is absolutely rife .
"The characters live in a small Manor house as their court, Henry injured & alone (he never would be, ever), Anne out walking without a guard.. come on, do better."
Another fan posted: "Great acting but so many inaccuracies in the first couple of minutes."
Meanwhile, other fans were left in shock yesterday after the queen shared a kiss with the future wife of Henry VIII.
Anne tenderly locked lips with love rival Jane Seymour, played by Lola Petticrew, in the first instalment on Tuesday.
As well as a number of racy sex scenes between Jodie's character Anne and Henry VIII, depicted by Mark Stanley, there was an unlikely kiss.
After pregnant Anne is blindsided by the king taking a liking for one of her ladies in waiting, Jane, she pulls her aside to suss her new love rival.
One unconvinced viewer wrote: "I could accept Jodie Turner-smith #AnneBoleyn as a way for the younger generation to take an interest in history they might not before but having her kiss Jane Seymour and too many inaccurate events that never took place is too much, have at least some historical accuracy in it."
However, not all fans were left disappointed, many viewers praised the second instalment and were delighted to see Anne portrayed by a "strong" actress.
One thrilled viewer wrote: "Love Jodie Turner-Smith's portrayal of Anne Boleyn, she comes across as a very strong woman. Stunning performance by all."
Another shared: "Just watched Anne Boleyn, Jodie Turner-Smith is a breath of fresh air. Wonderful."
A third agreed: "Brilliant acting, I like Jodie's portrayal of Anne. Every actor brings something new and I thought you captured Anne's complex and contradictory personality beautifully."
Anne Boleyn was born somewhere between 1501 and 1536, and was aged around 28 to 35 when she died.
