Ranj was dealt a blow as his items continued to make losses at auction

Dr Ranj Singh competed against fellow TV doctor, Dr Zoe Williams to win the biggest profit after searching for antiques in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

They were joined by antiques experts Tim Medhurst and Steph Connell to help them find antiques that would sell for a pretty penny.

Dr Ranj visited a dance hall in Blackpool whilst Dr Zoe joined the crew of a steam train before the fateful auction in Harrogate.

But Ranj was defeated after Zoe managed to sell an item for almost double what she originally paid for it.

Ranj had banked on the trophy raking in a sizeable profit

Dr Ranj looked on in horror as the items he hoped would make big money struggled to get anywhere near what he paid for them.

Ranj was sad to see his big purchase, a Victorian Lancashire Rifle's trophy he bought for £120 sell for £85 as the auctioneer started the bidding at only £30.

Ranj put on an exaggerated sad face but began to giggle as Zoe said "I'm sorry," and gave him a hug.

Ranj's luck did not seem to improve as the silver napkin rings he bought in their original case for £90 also sold for much less than anticipated at just £35, losing him £55.

As Ranj looked winded, Tim remarked: "That's a bit of a blow isn't it?"

Zoe had far better luck than Ranj and with the help of Tim she was able to pick up a beautiful jester ornament made in the 1920s that Ranj and Steph passed up.

The ornament was used to tell what suit is being played during any given card game.

It came with a healthy price tag of its own as the pair bought the item for £115.

However, the risk paid off at auction as the duo along with Dr Ranj and Steph saw the bidding for the ornament commence at £85 and surpass the £115 mark by miles.

Dr Zoe's jester ornament fetched an amazing sum of £190

Dr Zoe couldn't contain her excitement, repeatedly gasping “yes” as the bidding continued to rise.

The ornament sold for a staggering £190 and the celeb doctor hugged Tim in delight.
