THE One Show's Alex Jones was cut off by Ed Sheeran after an awkward blunder last night.
The 30-year-old singer was on Wednesday's edition of the BBC show to promote his new single Bad Habits.
Host Alex, 44, started the chat by reeling off Ed's many achievements for viewers.
She started by saying: "Now then Ed, we're coming to you with stats. Because the stats surrounding your career are pretty off the scale. Apparently artist of the decade last year?"
Ed replied: "Err, yeah, yeah in England, well the UK."
Alex told him not to "play it down" before adding: "The most attended tour, apparently eight million people came to see you on tour."
But Ed interjected, saying: "Nine".
Alex corrected herself, saying: "Nine, nine, nine ok" before things turned even more awkward as she said: "Err, most songs from the last album reached the top twenty?"
Ed replied: "Well that was kind of like a mistake of the way that they like ordered the charts anyway, I’ll let you carry on, thank you."
Alex joked back: "Don't spoil it, we’re on a roll here."
The presenter then quickly moved on and asked Ed about him being a fan of 90s TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Ed's latest music video was inspired by the show, and Alex revealed the show's star - Sarah Michelle Gellar - had sent a video to thank him.
It's been a busy few days for the pop superstar who watched England beat Germany at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night alongside pal David Beckham.
The pair were in good company - with Prince William, Kate Middleton and their son Prince George sitting just a few rows in front of them.
Then yesterday Ed hung out with Wills' brother Prince Harry at a charity bash in London's Kew Gardens.
Harry, who was a surprise guest at the Wellchild Awards on Wednesday, gushed over new daughter Lilibet who was born on June 4.
