KAI WIDDRINGTON has risen to fame since he joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.

Who is Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kai Widdrington?

Kai Widdrington is an English dancer and choreographer who took up dancing aged nine.

By the time he was 14, he became the 2010 World Junior Latin-American champion. 

In 2012 when Kai was only 16, he reached the final of the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent.

He worked as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars Ireland and finished twice as runner-up on the show in 2018 and 2020.

His move to the UK version of the dancing competition came as due to rising Covid figures.

He partnered model in 2020, but hit the headlines as he became part of the , partnering Big Brother star Brian Dowling.

When did Kai join Strictly Come Dancing?

Kai was announced as one of four new Strictly professional dancers in July 2021.

The dancer said competing on Strictly is a childhood dream come true.

He said: “Watching Strictly from the very first series as a young boy from Southampton and now 18 years later, to be a professional dancer on the show is the most amazing feeling and the biggest accomplishment of my career.

“I can’t wait to step on to the Strictly floor and experience the exciting times that lie ahead.”

Is Kai Widdrington in a relationship?

Kai isn’t married and has been struck by the Strictly curse.

In 2016, he began a relationship with professional dancer and fellow Dancing With The Stars dancer, Giulia Dotta.

The couple however split before Kai could even make his debut in Strictly Come Dancing, after a five-year relationship.

Kai’s next relationship was with Strictly pro .

The couple started dating in 2022 but called time on their romance in July 2024.

After falling in love while competing against each other on the show, they announced that they were no longer an item.

A source explained: “Kai and Nadiya seemed like the most perfect couple and have been so, so blissfully in love.

“But the pressures of touring – being in each other’s space 24/7, and the stress of performing a sell-out show eventually took its toll.

“After a tough few weeks, they sat down together and decided to call it quits.

“They remain incredibly close and are determined their split will not have any impact on the next series of Strictly – they remain consummate professionals, and nothing will change that.”

Who has Kai Widdrington been partnered with in the past?

In his first year on Strictly, Kai was partnered with TV presenter AJ Odudu.

The pair managed to make it to the final but had to pull out due to AJ sustaining a leg injury.

While dancing together, the duo’s chemistry sparked romance rumours but they soon shut these down.

In 2022, Kai danced with Kaye Adams but they became the first couple to leave the competition.
